Our group of five (Steve & Lori VanKirk, Holly Noble, Allyn Paul and Lyn Jacobs arrived at the meeting place in a downpour and made the decision to go directly to breakfast. It was the right decision; the sun was shining as we left the Valley Inn. Unfortunately, we could not find our target bird, Clay-colored Sparrow. We did get great looks at a small group of Field Sparrows foraging in a shrub. Green Herons flew over several times and Red-winged Blackbirds seemed to be foraging in a group, as well.
