MAC Field Trip 8/1/2026

  • 2 min read

8 members arrived at the MAC in Savannah on a nice slightly hazy day to start.  Allyn, Lyn, Steve & Lori, Annie, Holly, Linda & I.  We heard and/or saw 37 species for the day between the trails at the MAC and Colvin Marsh across the road. The newly completed and expertly constructed, 2 tiered observation deck is a wonderful addition to this place. An Alder Flycatcher was early to make itself known by calling regularly but also showing itself. Indigo Buntings are always a great sight. A Sora calling sweetened the count, but maybe the Eastern Kingbird family, with new fledglings, hanging out together on a shrub was a highlight for most of us.  As usual, a great day out with the group.
