17 (I think) members arrived at Beechwood with high hopes to see a slew of migrating and as well as our resident birds. It was a good birding day, but not the blow you away kind. Still 48 species is pretty special and some really nice visual sightings were had. Its a big place and the group got divided somewhat so there might be some variation in sightings. Collectively we had 12 warber species with really good views of some like the Blackburnian, the Black-and-White, and the Black-throated Blue. A Hooded warbler was singing near its usual area, but no one got eyes on it as far as I know. A personal highlight is watching the hundreds of Bank Swallows. They were apparently intimidated by people present at the edge of the bluff and amassed in a cloud of birds offshore to await our departure.
