Greetings, On this very chilly day, albeit with plenty of sunshine, sixteen members (Kevin A, Linda/Steve B, Kate G, Jon G, Cathy M, Allyn P, Dave/Joan R, Inge R, Rich R, Pete S, Lori/Steve V, Yang Y) showed up for what we all hoped would be a fallout of migrating birds. NOPE! It was eerily quiet, especially in the beginning. We worked hard to produce our list of 45 species. Highlights included a beautiful Pileated Woodpecker heard drumming and later found. And at the other end of the size spectrum, loads of tiny Ruby-crowned Kinglets moved through the trees. EasternTowhees and White-throated Sparrows added their voices to enhance our experience, but both species were quite shy and hardly showed themselves.
