Eleven of us met at the Montezuma Audubon Center at 8:30 on Sunday April 13, 2025.

Martha, Nancy, Kevin, Holly, Saralina, Allyn, Paul, Steve and Lori and Steve and Linda were in attendance.

At the MAC we started walking out to the north pond and then back through the woods. and saw 41 species. Steve B. was the only one to see the Fox Sparrow, but we believed him.  Osprey were nesting on the cell tower. Lots of First of the Year birds, for most of us: Savannah Sparrow, Brown-headed Cowbird, Swamp Sparrow, Fox Sparrow, Osprey, Blue-winged Teal, Field Sparrow.

Next stop was Carncross Rd. for 15 species. We were all happy to see two Wilson's Snipe, lots of Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, and a few Dowitchers which lead to most discussion over whether they were long-billed or short-billed.

Last stop was Marten's Tract, 5 species. Had some excitement watching a Bald Eagle chasing an Osprey. Thanks to Steve B. for keeping the checklists.
